Christmas shops in London are filled with wonder. And on Oxford Street, you’re spoilt for choice with two dedicated Christmas emporiums — plus a few pop-ups — to explore. It couldn’t be simpler to enjoy a festive day out, sail through your gift list or source those special treasures to add a touch of magic to your home.
Selfridges Christmas Shop
Christmas at Selfridges begins with the most dazzling windows. Marvel at the 15 different displays, all taking inspiration from the brand’s Christmas theme, Season’s Feastings, with spectacular interpretations of festive ‘foodie’ moments.
Once inside, you’ll find ideas for setting up, dressing up, gift giving and merrymaking across all floors. But perhaps the most impressive of them all is Selfridges biggest Christmas shop yet on the fourth floor. Take your pick from over 1,200 baubles, half of which can’t be found anywhere else in the UK and keep an eye out for those labelled ‘Project Earth’ as being more planet-friendly so you can spruce up your tree sustainably.
From 25 November, take the kids to see Santa and his elf squad. They will be making daily visits to the Christmas Shop to spread some festive cheer as the countdown to Christmas begins.
John Lewis & Partners Christmas Shop
Step inside the winter wonderland-inspired Christmas store at John Lewis & Partners for glamorous wreaths and quirky Christmas decorations. There’s something for everyone from pretty mistletoe garlands to neon santas to liven up your tree. Find the style that best suits you or mix and match for a festive affair.
Plan a visit to Santa’s Grotto from 4 November until 24 December to meet the man himself and receive a special LEGO® gift. Kids can also plant a magic bean that turns into their very own Christmas tree to decorate and take home. Hurry, this experience is filling up faster than santa’s sleigh so be sure to book!
