Seasonal menu spotlight: Berners Tavern

Michelin starred chef Jason Atherton has created a new autumnal menu for Berners Tavern which champions and displays the very best of seasonal British produce. Settle into a table in the grand dining room adorned with pictures and an impressive chandelier.  Book now to savour comforting yet elevated dishes that are beautifully plated.

Sip on an expertly made cocktail whilst browsing the menu. The ‘Food for Thought’ cocktail is aptly named and simply delicious, made with mezcale and tequila and mixed with sherry, dill, coconut and tonic water. Start your meal with a selection of starters, we highly recommend the ‘Roasted Galician Octopus’, soft delicate octopus with asian flavours – a delight on the palate. The soup is not to be missed either, an umami ‘Wild Mushroom Soup’ served with a caramelised onion cheddar toastie.

When ordering your main, we guarantee you it will be a struggle to pick one as everything is mouthwateringly divine. But if you have to make a choice, make it the ‘Cumbrian Venison Loin’ with maple roast squash, baby beetroot, carrot cardamom puree and juniper sauce – this dish showcases traditional British cuisine at its very best. When it comes to dessert, again the decision will be difficult so we recommend ordering a few and sharing (or fighting) over the sweet treats. Stay classic with the ‘Apple Tatin’ or try something more innovative with the pillowy soft ‘Pumpkin Choux Bun’ with spiced chocolate sauce and pumpkin brulée ice cream.
