Last night the iconic Oxford Street ‘Sky Full of Stars’ Christmas lights twinkled for the first time this festive season! Over 1.5 miles of Christmas lights were switched on by singer Tom Grennan with the help of seven-year-old Emily, who has received life-changing care from Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and support from Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity) – our charity partner for this year. Christmas is a time of giving, so help make Christmas feel like Christmas for children like Emily by donating here. All proceeds will go directly to GOSH Charity.
Illuminated by thousands of bright, white stars providing the perfect backdrop to the festive season, Oxford Street is your go-to destination for all things Christmas this year. From shopping for everyone on your list, to tucking into festive treats and exploring the magical Christmas shops, the festive season has arrived on Oxford Street!
The Christmas light scheme is once again environmentally conscious and has been repurposed from last year. The display is made up of more than 300,000 LED light bulbs and recycled materials, making them 75% more energy efficient than traditional bulbs. What’s more, the sky will be illuminated from 3pm to 11pm each day to cut energy consumption.
Experience Oxford Street’s light display until early January and watch this space for lots more magical experiences on street and in store throughout the festive season.
