Christmas is nearly here, and the countdown is on to the most magical time of year. Celebrate the wonder of Christmas and kick off the festive season this year on Oxford Street, with our iconic star lights filling the entire length of the street from the 5th November.
Christmas is a time of giving and this year Oxford Street have partnered with Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity (GOSH Charity). GOSH Charity exists to help give seriously ill children at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) the best chance, and childhood, possible. Childhood Christmases shouldn’t be spent on a ward. But when they have to be, they do everything they can to make Christmas feel like Christmas. Help them continue to bring joy, family time and hope to seriously ill children and families by donating here. All proceeds will go directly to GOSH Charity.
GOSH Charity has supported thousands of children – like Emily who was born with a severe heart condition and spent the first three months of her life at GOSH, undergoing open heart surgery at only two days old. When Emily was transferred back to her local hospital, she was only given 24 hours to live. Fast forward a few years, and GOSH have since given Emily life-changing heart surgery.
Emily also has severe sight loss and has multiple conditions that GOSH continue to support her with. Emily’s guardian, Val says that “Christmas is a special time of year for Emily as she can see all the lights and feel all the magic. For us, Christmas is all about family time, making memories and making sure Emily enjoys every bit of it. When she was a baby, I was told she wouldn’t make Christmas, so it’s a very special time of year for us.”
You can help make an impact on the lives of seriously ill children and their families, providing the hope of many more Christmases to come. Give the gift of joy, family time and hope this year and donate here.
Every donation to GOSH Charity helps GOSH go above and beyond for seriously ill children like Emily. A big thank you from everyone at Oxford Street and GOSH Charity – your support makes a big difference!
