During the recent edition of London Fashion Week, designers and big name brands continued to shine the spotlight on sustainability and a more ethical approach to clothing production. Nowhere is this more evident than in our forward-thinking Oxford Street stores. From pioneering beauty brands such as The Body Shop, to H&M’s Conscious Collection made from sustainable fabrics and Zara’s ‘Join Life’ initiative comprising of sustainably created pieces, we have it covered. For the latest meaningful initiatives, why not head to the following stores on Oxford Street:
H&M – 216-271 & 174-176 Oxford Street
Ever since 2013, H&M has launched its Conscious Exclusive Collection comprising of “high-end environmentally friendly pieces, aiming to move H&M’s fashion and sustainability development towards a more sustainable fashion future.” So, with the sun still shining and the prospect of bare legs and an ankle boot still an option, you might want to check out its new sustainable dress collection. Featuring mini and midi styles, each piece is made from recycled polyester and in some cases, textile and plastic waste. The simple black and white colour palette also pairs well with other new-season pieces.
Selfridges – 400 Oxford Street, W1
Good news for all you thrifty shoppers who value the concept of pre-loved clothes. The Oxfam pop-up at Selfridges, which launched earlier this month, will run until October 4. Part of Oxfam’s ‘second-hand September’ initiative, the second-floor space includes a selection of fashion items ranging from £12 for a printed silk scarf to £450 for a vintage John Paul Gaultier suit. London-based fashion editor and Vogue stylist, Bay Garnett, is the creative charged with curating the collection. As part of her mission to find truly coveted pieces, she scoured Oxfam shops and its North Yorkshire sorting warehouse. So quick, grab a bargain before it goes!

The Danish accessories brand known for its range of comfortable footwear, stylish handbags, briefcases and small leathergoods, has gone one step further this season.
