Do you feel a little bit like you’re stuck in a style rut? Don’t panic, we’re here to come to your rescue. Not only do we have the lowdown on the trends that’ll instantly freshen up your wardrobe, but we’ve got your shopping list all sorted so you can have the best day out and about hitting the shops.
Boho dresses
If you were a fan of Sienna Miller’s style in the 00’s, you’re in luck, because the boho trend is back, and it’s better than ever – and as luck would have it the actress has just collaborated on a collection with M&S. We’re seeing plenty of ruffles, crochet and lace, ombre colours, flowing skirts and tired layers.
Butter yellow
The ultimate in dopamine dressing, the butter yellow trend will instantly put a smile on your face – we guarantee it. While we love any shade of yellow, this particular trend is all about a softer yellow, more like butter (hence the name). We love the head-to-toe look, or you can ease into it by opting for one pop of colour and keeping the rest of your outfit neutral. Try this & Other Stories linen suit (or you can wear the waistcoat with wide leg beige trousers), this Selfridges bikini, adidas trainers or Bershka’s simple t-shirt.
Crisp whites
Wimbledon may be over, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be inspired off court for a little bit longer. Luckily, tenniscore is one of the biggest trends for Spring/Summer 2024 and crisp whites in particular are a must this season. Luckily, you probably already have some white pieces in your wardrobe, but if you don’t, we have plenty to share with you. Lean into the trend by wearing a white dress with white sandals, or an oversized white shirt with white trousers and trainers.
Minimal 90s
Yes, the 90s are back, but only the good bits. Forget about tattoo necklaces and super baggy trousers, this time we’re investing in the minimalist pieces that will see you through this season and beyond. Think tank tops, pencil skirts, leather jackets, baguette bags and black thong sandals.
Sheer skirts
Sheer skirts were everywhere on the catwalk, and while it seems like a risqué trend to try, it’s far less scary than you’d think. Sure, you can easily wear a sheer skirt over some nude underwear and a tank top to lean into the above-mentioned 90s trend, but you can also play with layering. Think a sheer skirt over a colourful micro mini or even jeans, or worn under a longline blazer.
Short shorts
Wearing shorts in summer isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but for Spring/Summer 2024, we’re taking shorts to a whole new level, or more specifically, to a shorter length. The key here is to balance things out, opting for oversized fits up top, for example men’s shirts and long blazers. We like Urban Outfitters’ tailored hot pants, Next’s denim shorts, Pull & Bear’s striped shorts, Reserved’s sporty style and Zara’s mini shorts with pleats – a style to suit every taste.
