With wedding season on the horizon, the summer sales are the perfect opportunity to shop for your wedding guest look, whether you’re after a dress, bag or shoes. There’s also plenty of holiday clothes for when you next go away, including swimsuits and sunglasses. Or, if you’re organised, you can plan ahead of next season by buying knitwear, jeans or coats. If you’re headed to a wedding but don’t normally wear suits for the office, then there’s no point spending a fortune on nice attire you’ll only wear once. Luckily, there are plenty of sales that you can pick a shirt, jacket or dress shoes up at (Reiss, Office or Burton). Kids grow so fast that you’ll need stocking up for the season ahead and even next summer, for basics as well as dressier outfits and nursery items. You don’t need to spend a fortune to spruce up your home, especially if you are buying accessories like cushions or lamps that will instantly update whichever room they end up in. Matalan is currently offering 20% off outdoor homeware including cushions, picnicware and ornaments. Urban Outfitters’ summer sale includes this glass table lamp for £23. We also love T.K.Maxx’s dining chairs, which are 86% off the RRP, and Primark’s chic storage shelves for just £60.

There’s no denying it, buying tech, whether that’s a coffee machine, smartphone or headphones, is always going to be a bigger purchase, though it’s often worth the investment. That said, it certainly goes a long way if you can get a little bit of £££ off the original price. Typically, tech sales don’t go as high as 50% off, but here are some good deals you might like: Bose earbuds (26% off at Selfridges), a Samsung Smartwatch (£75 off), a Dyson purifying fan (£100 off), a Tassimo coffee machine (less than £45) and a record player (£20 off at Urban Outfitters).

It’s always worth stocking up on beauty items in the sales, as they have a long shelf life and you’ll always need them (think shower products, makeup, skincare etc). Luckily, there are plenty of beauty stores on Oxford Street which currently offer sales or promotions on lots of different brands, from L’Oreal to YSL.
